History

1978 - 1979

One change to the League Officers saw K J Mulraney revert to the Management Committee and, following the withdrawal of D B Cradock, M G Benson was elected Referees' Appointments Secretary.

Park again won Division 1 for the third year running, Division 2 winners were Ferndale Athletic, Division 3 winners were Shrewton and Division 4 winners were Meadowcroft.  Wootton Bassett Town won the Subsidiary Cup.

1979 - 1980

There was one change on the Management Committee with B Minett replacing F E Jones.

Amesbury won Division 1, Division 2 winners were Calne Town, Division 3 winners were Sanford Res and Division 4 winners were Dorcan.  Highworth Town won the Subsidiary Cup.

1980 - 1981

Both K J Mulraney and I R Titcombe left the Management Committee and were replaced by S W Moore and B W Phillips.  The League reported the sad loss of V R Blake who passed away suddenly during the season.

Park won Division 1, Division 2 winners were St Joseph's, Division 3 winners were Shrewton and Division 4 winners were Durrington Rangers.  Penhill YC won the Subsidiary Cup.  The League ran two Cup Competitions this season: Calne Town won the Goldliner Senior Cup and Park Res won the Goldliner Junior Cup.

1981 - 1982

League Secretary, E S M Ashman stood down at the Annual General Meeting and reverted to the Management Committee.  P J Ackrill was elected League Secretary with R J M Wirdnam being elected as Registration Secretary.

Park again won Division 1, Division 2 winners were Meadowcroft, Division 3 winners were Moredon YC and Division 4 winners were Calne Town Res.  The two Cup Competitions were renamed this season: Park won the Ghia Senior Cup and Park Res won the Ghia Junior Cup.

1982 - 1983

For the first time, the League Officers and Management Committee remained unchanged this season although Vice-Chairman, W L Miles, resigned at the end of the season.

Penhill won Division 1, Division 2 winners were Purton, Division 3 winners were Avebury Res and Division 4 winners were Kington Langley.  Avebury won the Ghia Senior Cup and Malmesbury Victoria won the Ghia Junior Cup.

1983 - 1984

D C Kilford was elected Vice-Chairman with D W G Cripps filling the vacant position on the Management Committee.  W L Miles was made a Life Member of the League.

Penhill won Division 1, Division 2 winners were Wills, Division 3 winners were Penhill Res and Division 4 winners were Plessey Sports.  Wootton Bassett Town won the Ghia Senior Cup and Plessey Sports won the Ghia Junior Cup.  Warminster Town Res won the Subsidiary Cup.

1984 - 1985

G A Highmore stood down as Treasurer and took the place on the Management Committee vacated by B Minett.  J S Northover was elected Treasurer at the Annual General Meeting.

Park won Division 1, Division 2 winners were Wootton Bassett Town, Division 3 winners were Plessey Sports and Division 4 winners were Corsham Town Res.  Penhill won the Ghia Senior Cup and Oldacre won the Ghia Junior Cup.

1985 - 1986

There were no changes to the League Officers or Management Committee this season.

Purton won Division 1, Division 2 winners were Ferndale Athletic, Division 3 winners were Calne Town Res and Division 4 winners were Walcot.  Calne Town won the Ghia Senior Cup and Park Res won the Ghia Junior Cup.

1986 - 1987

Again, there were no changes to the League Officers or Management Committee this season.

Bemerton Athletic won Division 1, Division 2 winners were Oldacre, Division 3 winners were Purton Res and Division 4 winners were Old Manor Res.  Ferndale Athletic won the Ghia Senior Cup and Biddestone won the Ghia Junior Cup.  Marlborough Town won the Subsidiary Cup.  Purton resigned from the League to join the Hellenic League.

1987 - 1988

Again, there were no changes to the League Officers or Management Committee this season.

Wootton Bassett Town won Division 1, Division 2 winners were Marlborough Town, Division 3 winners were Aldbourne Park Res and Division 4 winners were Chiseldon.  Ferndale Athletic won the Ghia Senior Cup and Walcot Athletic won the Ghia Junior Cup.

1988 - 1989

There were two changes to the League Officers or Management Committee this season.  M G Benson resigned as Referees' Appointments Secretary and was made a Life Member of the League.  M W E Farrow was elected as Referees' Appointments Secretary.  S W Moore resigned from the Management Committee.  Sadly, B W Phillips passed away during the season.

Ferndale Athletic won Division 1, Division 2 winners were Devizes Town Res, Division 3 winners were Walcot Athletic and Division 4 winners were Wroughton.  Amesbury Town won the Ghia Senior Cup and Walcot Athletic won the Ghia Junior Cup.

1989 - 1990

A M Pickett from Dunbar Wills FC joined the  Management Committee at the start of this season, leaving one vacancy.  Wootton Bassett Town left to join the Hellenic.  G A Highmore, former Treasurer and a Management Committee member passed away this season, as did Life Member and former Vice-Chairman, W L Miles.

Pewsey Vale won Division 1, Division 2 winners were Pinehurst, Division 3 winners were Walcot Athletic and Division 4 winners were Wootton Bassett Sports.  The Cup Competitions were renamed the Harding Senior and Junior KO Cups.  Amesbury Town won the Harding Senior Cup and Manor won the Harding Junior Cup.

1990 - 1991

The season started on a sad note when Chairman, J R Nunn, who had held that post since the League was formed,  passed away in September.  D C Kilford took over as Chairman for the remainder of the season.  D Perry from Corsham Town and I E Sumbler from Ferndale filled the vacant positions on the Management Committee.  H Beattie was made a Life Member for his many years service to the League.

Amesbury Town won Division 1, Division 2 winners were Wroughton, Division 3 winners were Sunray Badbury and Division 4 winners were Ramsbury.  The Cup Competitions had new sponsors were renamed the Addkey  Senior KO Cup and the Fountain Trophies Junior KO Cup.  Amesbury Town won the Addkey Senior KO Cup and Sunray Badbury won the Fountain Trophies Junior KO Cup.

1991 - 1992

D C Kilford was elected Chairman and C W Cousins, Vice-Chairman.  W B Shail from Sanford filled the vacancy on the Management Committee.  The League extended its boundaries this season and changed its name to The Wiltshire Football League.  This season saw the League enter into a Pyramid of Football Agreement with the Western and Hellenic Football Leagues.

Amesbury Town won Division 1, Division 2 winners were Dorcan, Division 3 winners were Sunray Badbury and Division 4 winners were Plessey Semics.  Pewsey Vale won the Addkey Senior KO Cup and Box Rovers won the Fountain Trophies Junior KO Cup.

1992 - 1993

E S M Ashman, a prime mover in forming the League and first League Secretary, passed away in June 1992 after a short illness.  J R Gingell from Corsham was elected to fill the vacancy on the Management Committee.

Pewsey Vale won Division 1, Division 2 winners were Marlborough Town, Division 3 winners were Salisbury Manor and Division 4 winners were Dorcan Res.  Amesbury Town won the Addkey Senior KO Cup and Aldbourne Park Res won the Fountain Trophies Junior KO Cup.

1993 - 1994

Life Member, H Beattie, sadly passed away during the season.  There were no changes to the League Officers or Management Committee this season.

Melksham Town won Division 1, Division 2 winners were Bradford Town, Division 3 winners were National Semi-Conductors and Division 4 winners were Ashton Keynes.  Melksham Town won the Addkey Senior KO Cup and Melksham Town Res won the Fountain Trophies Junior KO Cup.  Bradford Town won the Subsidiary Cup.

1994 - 1995

There were no changes to the League Officers or Management Committee this season.  A new logo was produced, changing the design for the first time since the League was formed.

Aldbourne Ferndale won Division 1, Division 2 winners were Melksham Town Res, Division 3 winners were Raychem S & S and Division 4 winners were Shrewton Utd Res.  Aldbourne Ferndale won the Addkey Senior KO Cup and Raychem S & S won the Fountain Trophies Junior KO Cup.  Chippenham Town Res won the Subsidiary Cup.  Amesbury Town won promotion to the Western League under the Pyramid System.

1995 - 1996

Skurrays became the first sponsors of the League, which was renamed The Skurrays Wiltshire League.  M W E Farrow resigned as Referees' Appointments Secretary and was succeeded by W C Tanner from Salisbury.  Vice-Chairman, C W Cousins, who had been a member of the League since its formation, passed away after a long illness.

Pinehurst won Division 1, Division 2 winners were Southbrook Walcot, Division 3 winners were Raychem S & S and Division 4 winners were PFC Durrington.  Corsham Town won the Addkey Senior KO Cup and Down Ampney won the Fountain Trophies Junior KO Cup.

1996 - 1997

D W G Cripps was elected Vice-Chairman and Referee, D J Smith elected to fill the vacancy on the Management Committee.

Shrewton Utd won Division 1, Division 2 winners were Raychem S & S, Division 3 winners were Chiseldon and Division 4 winners were Raychem S & S Res.  Corsham Town won the Addkey Senior KO Cup and Cricklade Town won the Fountain Trophies Junior KO Cup.

1997 - 1998

The only change to the Management Committee this season saw B L Busson elected as Referees' Appointments Secretary to replace W C Tanner.

Corsham Town won Division 1, Division 2 winners were Melksham Town, Division 3 winners were Down Ampney and Division 4 winners were GPS Res.  Shrewton Utd won the Addkey Senior KO Cup and Wroughton Res won the Fountain Trophies Junior KO Cup.

1998 - 1999

With the introduction of new Senior Status standards by the Wiltshire County Football Association, an Intermediate Status was introduced and the League amended its Rules accordingly.  Division 1 became the Premier Division, Division 2 the Intermediate Division, Division 3 became Junior Division 1 and Division 4 became Junior Division 2.  The Intermediate Division was sponsored by Plaister Auto Services.

There were no changes to the League Officers or Management Committee this season.  Corsham Town were elected to the Western League via the Pyramid System.

Raychem Mowlem won the Premier Division, Intermediate Division winners were Down Ampney, Junior Division 1 winners were Cricklade Town Res and Junior Division 2 winners were Westside Utd.  Shrewton Utd won the Addkey Senior KO Cup, Southbrook won the Plaister Autos Intermediate Cup and Westside Utd won the Fountain Trophies Junior KO Cup.

1999 - 2000

The only change to the Management Committee this season saw S Withers from Shrewton elected to replace D Perry who resigned.

Malmesbury Victoria won the Premier Division, Intermediate Division winners were Trowbridge Town, Junior Division 1 winners were Malmesbury Victoria Res and Junior Division 2 winners were Sherston Town.  Cricklade Town won the Addkey Senior KO Cup, Aldbourne won the Plaister Autos Intermediate Cup and Ashton Keynes won the Fountain Trophies Junior KO Cup.

2000 - 2001

There were no changes to the League Officers or Management Committee this season.  Malmesbury Victoria were elected to the Hellenic League via the Pyramid System.

Chairman D C Kilford, General Secretary P J Ackrill and Fixture Secretary P M Cook were all made Life Members of the League.

Cricklade Town won the Premier Division, Intermediate Division winners were Wanborough Utd, Junior Division 1 winners were Ashton Keynes and Junior Division 2 winners were Swindon Eagles.  Cricklade Town won the Addkey Senior KO Cup, Wanborough Utd won the Plaister Autos Intermediate Cup and Swindon Eagles won the Fountain Trophies Junior KO Cup.

2001 - 2002

This was the Silver Jubilee season for the League.  Two Representative XI matches were played, one against the Dorset Combination League and another against the Wiltshire FA U.21's.  A Jubilee Dinner and Dance was held at Melksham in March.

There were no changes to the League Officers or Management Committee this season.  Registration Secretary, R J M Wirdnam was made a Life Member of the League.

Shrewton Utd won the Premier Division, Intermediate Division winners were Stratton Crosslink Res and Junior Division 1 winners were Wootton Bassett Utd.  Cricklade Town won the Addkey Senior KO Cup, Dunbar Westside won the Plaister Autos Intermediate Cup and Bromham won the Fountain Trophies Junior KO Cup.

2002 - 2003

There were no changes to the League Officers or Management Committee again this season.

Shrewton Utd won the Premier Division, Intermediate Division winners were Dunbar Westside and Junior Division 1 winners were Cricklade Town Res.  The Senior KO Cup had a new sponsor in Corsham Print and the first winners were Shrewton Utd.  Wanborough Utd won the Plaister Autos Intermediate Cup and Cricklade Town Res won the Fountain Trophies Junior KO Cup.  Shrewton Utd were elected to the Western League via the Pyramid System.

2003 - 2004

After serving for 22 years as General Secretary, P J Ackrill retired at the 2003 Annual General Meeting and was elected President.  He was succeeded by J T Thorn from Swindon.  D W G Cripps retired as Vice-Chairman and was succeeded by W B Shail.  There were an insufficient number of Clubs at Intermediate Status this season, so the League reverted back to two Junior Divisions.  The League had new sponsors this season in Plaister Auto Services and changed their name accordingly.

Trowbridge Town won the Premier Division, Junior Division 1 winners were Trowbridge Town Res and Junior Division 2 winners were Swindon Asians.  Bradford Town won the Corsham Print Senior KO Cup and Blunsdon Utd won the Fountain Trophies Junior KO Cup.  Trowbridge Town won promotion to the Hellenic League and Biddestone left to join the Western League.

The League was shocked by the sudden death of President, P J Ackrill, in February 2004.

2004 - 2005

D J Smith retired from the Management Committee at the Annual General Meeting.  Mrs M Withers from Shrewton and Referee, P Boyles from Swindon were elected to the Management Committee.  Treasurer, J S Northover was made a Life Member of the League.

Corsham Town won the Premier Division, Division 1 winners were Down Ampney and Division 2 winners were Castle Combe.  AFC Stratton won the Corsham Print Senior KO Cup and County Ground won the Fountain Trophies Junior KO Cup.  Bradford Town won promotion to the Western League and Cricklade Town left to join the Hellenic League.

2005 - 2006

Mrs M Withers was elected as the League's first Hon Discipline Secretary.  There were no other changes to the League Officers or Management Committee this season.

Corsham Town retained the Premier Division title.  Division 1 winners were Wroughton and Division 2 winners were Chiseldon Castrol.  Corsham Town won the Corsham Print Senior KO Cup and Wroughton won the Fountain Trophies Junior KO Cup.  Wroughton also won the Wiltshire FA County Junior Cup.  Warminster Town won promotion to the Wessex League.

2006 - 2007

D C Kilford, who had been League Chairman since 1991, stood down at the Annual General Meeting and was duly elected as League President.  He was succeeded by W B Shail.  S Withers was elected Vice Chairman.  B L Busson stood down as Hon Referees' Appointments Secretary and was replaced by P Cox from Melksham.  M Baldwin from Bromham and A Cripps from Marlborough were elected to the Management Committee.

Corsham Town won the Premier Division title for the third successive season.  Division 1 winners were AFC Castrol and Division 2 winners were Lower Stratton.  Corsham Town retained the Corsham Print Senior KO Cup and SKS Blyskawica won the Fountain Trophies Junior KO Cup.

2007 - 2008

There were no changes to the League Officers or Management Committee this season.  A M Pickett was made a Life Member of the League.

Wroughton won the Premier Division title.  Division 1 winners were Minety and Division 2 winners were KC.  Calne Town won the Corsham Print Senior KO Cup and KC won the Fountain Trophies Junior KO Cup.  Minety won the Wiltshire FA County Junior Cup.

2008 - 2009

P Cox stood down as Hon Referees' Appointments Secretary and was replaced by A Cripps from Marlborough.  I E Sumbler was made a Life Member of the League.

New College Swindon won the Premier Division.  Minety retained the Division 1 title.  Division 2 winners were Greenmeadow.  Melksham Town won the Corsham Print Senior KO Cup and Chalke Valley won the Fountain Trophies Junior KO Cup.

2009 - 2010

M Baldwin and P Cox both resigned from the Management Committee.  S Kuczynski from Swindon was elected to the Management Committee during the season.

New College Swindon retained the Premier Division as did  Minety in Division 1, but for the second time.  Division 2 winners were Wilton Town.  Pewsey Vale won the Corsham Print Senior KO Cup and Wroughton Res won the Fountain Trophies Junior KO Cup.

2010 - 2011

There were no changes to the League Officers or Management Committee this season.
